The Stann Creek District Assembly with assistance from The Scout Association of Belize organized and held the Annual Program and Training Planning Conference at the Epworth Methodist School in Dangriga Town on the 20th and 21st of November 2010.
The objective of the Planning Conference was to develop the calendar of activities and training based on the needs of the groups and in a democratic and systematic way vote on the activities and where or which district would have the honor of organizing such activity or training.
The conference had the participation of about 20 Leaders representing Corozal, Cayo, and Stann Creek Districts. The conference was facilitated by the National Scout Executive, Mr. Hilberto Riverol with assistance from other members of the Scout office. At the end of the conference the members decided on the different activities and where they would be held. The most important being the National Scout Fair in April the Centenary Camp in August and the Leader’s Honor Banquet on September. Planned visits to each district to disseminate information on these activities will be conducted by the National Committee during the up-coming months.
After the working planning sessions the Leaders were treated to a small Banquet, hosted by the Stann Creek District Assembly and after the banquet the Leaders were treated to a wonderfully prepared Garinagu Cultural presentation at one of the Sheds close by. The Leaders enjoyed the drumming and the dances and in some instances participated alongside the onlookers with dancing at the beat of the drums. The following day the Leaders all took Part in the Mass prepared at Epworth Methodist church. After the beautiful sermon the Leaders departed hoping to enjoy the next Annual planning Conference (November 12th and 13th) in Punta Gorda Town hosted by the Toledo District Assembly
