Basic First Aid Training Course May 18, 2010
On Saturday May 15, 2010, a Basic First Aid Training Course was organized and conducted for Venture Scouts of the Belize District. As part of the Scout training program, Scouts are required to attend and qualify in a certification Course in First Aid to enable them to receive their First Aid Badge and thus enabling them to be prepared in case of minor accidents or emergencies.

Eight Venture Scouts and two adult Leaders took part in the training course held at The Scout Association Conference Room in Belize City.
Topics covered at the course were:
What is First Aid? Burns and scalds
First Aid Kits Unconsciousness
Dressing and bandages Epileptic convulsions
Choking Moving an injured person
Shock, Fainting, Asthma Nose Bleeding
Heat Stroke, Heat Exhaustion External bleeding
Cuts, scratches Stings and insect bites
Snake bites Tourniquets
Immobilizing broken /dislocated limbs Highlights of CPR
Mr. Evan Sanchez from Belize Emergency Response Team, (BERT), conducted the Training Course.
Participants were instructed and at the end of the training course a test was given to all the participants. The test is to qualify the participants for their certification.
