Sustaining Membership Enrollment (SME) is an annual fundraising event that gives Scouters and the business community and other interested people in the community an opportunity to be identified with the Scout Movement principally by contributing to the financial support of The Scout Association. For the convenience of sustaining members, a pledge may be made and paid at specified intervals later in the year. Through SME, enrollees can influence the expansion of the Scout program.
Scouting is a program of leadership development under competent volunteer adult leadership. Youth members develop skills and participate in personal and community activities with other young people in their communities. Scouting activities are aimed at the total development - mental, social, physical and spiritual - of the participating young person.
