The annual parade and ceremony to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s Birthday was held on Monday May 27, 2013 at the MCC Grounds in Belize City.

Uniformed Cub Scouts, Scouts, Venture Scouts, and Queen’s Scouts Fernando Oliva and Shawn Eusey participated in this year’s ceremony and parade along with adult Leaders from 8th Belize St. Joseph, 9th Belize St. Ignatius, 11th Belize St. Martins, 22nd Belize St. Luke and 28th Belize Ebenezer Scout Groups.

Special distinguished guests started to arrive immediately after the Guard of Honor was formed then His Excellency Sir Colville N. Young, Governor-General of Belize made his appearance and the Belize Defense Force band played the Belize National Anthem.

This was followed by the playing of, “GOD Save the Queen” while Her Majesty’s Flag was raised.
Immediately after, Sir Colville Young inspected the mounted Guard of Honor which included detachments from the Belize Defense Force, the Police Department, the Coast Guard, Scouts, Girl Guides, Police Cadet Corp the Belize Defense Force Cadets and the Belize Red Cross.

This was followed with the march-pass inside the MCC Grounds and the conclusion of the Parade as all participants exited the MCC Grounds to the tune of marching music.

The Scouts were then treated to refreshments before they were dismissed. A hearty thanks to all the Scouts, Leaders, parents and our immediate past Chief Scout Dr. Erasmo Franklin, Director of Operations, Randolph Johnson and Director of Program, Nephtali Palma who once again participated in the Queen’s Birthday Parade.

This year’s parade saw the greatest number of uniform Scouts in attendance – CONGRATS!!! And a BIG THANK YOU to all the Leaders, Commissioners, Directors, Cub Scouts, Scouts and Venture Scouts for participating.
