It was Sunday February 12 and the day was over cast and although the organizers knew the bay was sheltered, they did not expect above 20 knot winds and 3 foot waves.

In the face of adversity, 9 year old Trent Hardwick showed courage and finished the Optimist heat. Next Joshua McKenzie placed first in the second Optimist heat before the race was cancelled due to the weather. But before this was done the Bosun race was won by Sea Scouts Alex and Bruce Young. Joshua McKenzie also took first place in the Pico class and Bruce Young placed second in the Sunfish class race.

Also sailing were Sea Scouts Kyle Ali and Joshua Pott who hope to do better at the Baron Bliss Regatta on March 11 at the BTL Park.
