The Toledo District Assembly with assistance from The Scout Association of Belize organized and held the Annual Planning Conference at the Punta Gorda Methodist School in Punta Gorda Town on the 12th and 13th of November 2011. The objective of the Planning Conference was to develop the calendar of activities and training based on the needs of the groups and in a democratic and systematic way vote on the activities and where or which district would have the honor of organizing such activity or training.
The conference had the participation of over 25 Leaders representing Toledo, Belize, Cayo, and Stann Creek Districts. The conference was facilitated by the National Program Commissioner, Mr. Nephtali Palma with assistance from other members of the National Scout Association. At the end of the conference the members decided on the different activities and where they would be held. The most important being the National Scout Olympiad in February, the Cub and Scout Camps in July, and the Leadership training for new Leaders. Two of the highlights of the event were the participation of 5 Venture Scouts who decided and voted for the National Venture Scout Summit to be held in San Ignacio for January and the Venture Rafting, Pioneering and Educational workshop for October in San Estevan.
