The Scout Association through its Program Commission under the leadership of Akela Marilyn Dawson held its Summer Weekend Cub Scout Camp from July 28 through the 30, 2017.

The Symbolic Framework for this Camp was “Life in Jumbo Land”.

The event as promised was fun, interesting and educational with games, arts and craft, red Flower and much more. The camp displayed a Ginormous and friendly environment that everyone enjoyed.

The camp also offered our Cub Scouts the opportunity to experience real life challenges through games and other Educational Activities. They were faced with different situations that required decisions to overcome obstacles and yield a satisfactory end result. The participants also learned about teamwork, developed effective problem solving skills and the ability to interact with nature and social education in real life.

The camp was held at Camp Oakley, Burrell Boom the official Camping and Training Grounds for The Scout Association of Belize.

The Camp Akela for this year’s camp was Ms. Lucia Cituk. She has years of Cub experience and is presently the Group Scout Leader for the 11th Corozal Mary Hill RC Scout Group.
