On Wednesday June 28, 2017, the 6th Corozal Methodist Scout Group held investiture ceremonies for 10 Cub Scouts and 5 Scouts inside the Corozal Methodist Church.
After the Leader, Mrs. Gwendolyn Monima, who is also the Principal of the school, re-affirmed her Promise amongst those present, including the Governor General of Belize, members of The Scout Association of Belize, parents, members of staff and other invited guests, she proceeded to invest the Cub Scouts and Scouts.
Before making their Promise, the new recruits were asked if they knew, understood, accepted, and were prepared to live up to the Cub/Scout Promise and Law. They firmly replied yes and were then invested into the world wide brotherhood of Scouting. They had keenly been attending their Cub/Scout meetings and activities trying to fulfill the investiture requirements so as to prepare for this much anticipated day. Mrs. Monima had also been preparing by attending the various Courses held in Corozal as a Leader in training.
After words of motivation and encouragement by both the Executive Director of The Scout Association of Belize, Mr. Hilberto Riverol, and the Governor General of Belize, Sir Colville Young, the Cubs and Scouts resounded Scout Cheers to the liking and amazement of those present. They then took pictures with the distinguished guests and served refreshment to the attendees. A heartfelt thank you to the parents and school for making it possible for these new Cub/Scouts to become better citizens in our community and for the new Group to continue Scouting.
