BSA Scout Jonathan Dueitt Contributes big time to Camp Oakley
Hurricane Earle did much damage to Camp Oakley last year when it passed through Belize and several request for assistance to do reconstruction fell on deaf years, then suddenly, an email is received from a Scout from Boy Scouts of America (BSA). This extraordinaire 15 year old Life Scout from the Woodlands Texas offered to raise some funds to assist with the reconstruction of the damaged facilities. A few month later, Jonathan and his dad are in Belize to hand over $3,320.00 worth of material towards the reconstruction process.
Not only did he contribute financially but also worked on the reconstruction of the toilet facilities in Sub Camp Julian Castillo along with Venture Scouts from the Belize District. His contribution was enough to repair and paint all four toilets in the Sub Camp that is widely used throughout the year for Scout events.
Thank you Jonathan for caring and showing love to Scouting in Belize. You are an example of a true Scout in action.
Jonathan was presented with a certificate of appreciation on behalf of The Scout Association of Belize.
