“3rd National Venture Scout Symposium”

“We want to get all our young people along
through cheery self-development from within and not through the
imposition of formal instruction from without.”
Lord Robert Stephenson Smyth Baden-Powell
If you are between the ages of 15 and 21, you are invited to
participate in the “3rd
National Venture Scout Symposium” to be held in the
Village of Burrell Boom, Belize District. This event will be held
from Saturday January 26 to Sunday 27.
Opening ceremonies will commence at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday,
thereafter the planned sessions will follow.
The introductory sessions will include a brief report of past
symposiums held in Orange Walk and Belize City. Other topics will
include the Venture Scout Role, Venture Scout Award, Queen’s Scout
Award, Leadership Roles and of special interest International
Activities where Venture Scouts can actively participate,
contributing in an international way towards the development of
Scouting.
These sessions, we believe, will help the participants to understand
the Venture Scout program as well as their specific role as Venture
Scouts. We also hope that after this weekend of interaction
participants will be better equipped to help assist in a Scout Group
in some way or another and in their your communities.
In order to make this weekend enjoyable and dynamic, special
speakers with a wide experience in their field have been invited to
conduct different sessions.
To help us defray the cost of this event a $15.00 fee is
being charged per participant in order to have materials readily
available as well as for the social night/dance.
The deadline for registration is January 21 as all
necessary preparations are already underway for the Scouting
community of Burrell Boom to receive you.
If you need more information you can contact Ricardo Alcoser at cell
668-7425 or 227-2168 during office hours.
