The 28th National Scout Camp was held at the National Training and Camping Grounds of The Scout Association of Belize, Camp Oakley near Burrell Boom from the July12 - 19, 2010. Camp Oakley entrance gate
We saw participants from four districts namely Belize, Corozal, Orange Walk and Toledo for a total of 125 participants which included Scouts, Ventures, Leaders, Medical Team and other volunteers.
Setting up camp on day-one Upon arrival at camp participants were notified of the different Sub camps which were Balderamos and Castillo. The Scouts and Leaders got right into their campsite set-up and tent pitching. The Subcamp Chief was Mr. Martin Palma for Balderamos Subcamp and Ms. Vicky Burgos for Castillo Subcamp. DAY ONE: The only activity that was schedule was the Opening Ceremony which was set for 6pm. Scouts were asked to dress in their Class A Uniform where there was a march in by Districts.
Patrick Thompson - Camp Director The Chief Scout gave the key note address at which time he congratulated everyone for coming out to this year’s camp. He also thanked the Leaders for taking time out from work to bring out the Scouts and finally the camp staff for all the preparatory work that they did in connection with the camp and for their commitment in ensuring that the camp will be a success. Chief Scout - Dr. Erasmo Franklin The Camp Director, Patrick Thompson at this point introduced the Camp Staff, Medical Team, Venture Scout volunteers, Leaders, and others that were present. He then declared the 28th National Scout Camp Open.
Meet the staff DAY TWO: The day started at 6am with a flag raising ceremony followed by physical training after which its shower time then breakfast and then straight into activities for the morning which will go up to lunch time. At 1:30p.m the afternoon activities began going up to 4:30 followed by a free time. It is at this time that Leaders take their Units to swim or do what ever they want to do, this goes up to 5:30. During 5:30 - 6:00 its shower time followed by supper. Serving lunch on day-one

Can we have more food, please The night activities began at 7pm and ran until 9pm. At this time the camp staff met to evaluate the day’s activities and discuss and plan for the following day of events.

Football competition LIGHTS OUT was at 10:00 PM. Survival hikers returning to camp Flag Raising Ceremonies were under the supervision of Myles Giban a Venture Scout of 9th Belize St Ignatius and the physical training was done by Osmond Romero also of 9th Belize St Ignatius. The survival trek expedition was plan and executed under the leadership of Subcamp Chief Mr. Martin Palma assisted by Mr. Robert Escobar, Mr. Lopez, Mr. Gian Novelo and Mr. Mark Sosa. A brotherhood of Scouts The remainder of the week saw many educational and challenging activities as outlined in the below program. DAYS OF ACTIVITES:
ACTIVITIES WERE ORGANIZED BY LEADERS, VENTURE SCOUTS AND OTHER VOLUNTEERS. AT THE CLOSING CEREMONIES SCOUTS, LEADERS AND VENTURES HAD THE HONOUR OF MEETING MR. JOHN CARILLO THE ORANGE WALK DISTRICT COMMISSIONER WHO DESIGNRD THE 28TH NATIONAL SCOUT CAMP PATCH.
