World Scout Jamboree Belize Participants (Left to Right) Immer Campos, Miles Geban, Maritza Gongora, Jennifer Larrieu The 22nd World Scout Jamboree was hosted in Sweden and brought together some 30,000 young people from all around the world Scouts (participants and International Service Team) to experience adventure, international friendship, and personal development.
Belize Scouts in Sweden - Visiting places of interest The Jamboree took place on the fields of Rinkaby, outside the town of Kristianstad in the very south of Sweden from July 27 through August 7, 2011.
WHAT IS A WORLD SCOUT JAMBOREE?
Once every four years, adolescent Scouts from all around the world gather together for two weeks of activities and adventures. Building a tent city that stretches for hectares across the fields, the Jamboree brings tens of thousands of young people together. Living the good life in Sweden - Touring A World Scout Jamboree is an educational event, where Scouts learn together about themes relevant to their participation in modern society. They can experience multiculturalism in action, and learn about how they themselves can have an impact on their world of Scouting’s ability to develop world brotherhood, a spirit of friendship, and a source of understanding among young people through fellowship, activities, and adventure. Most countries from the 156 where Scouting exists are represented. Belize Scouts with (Jack substitute leader) and hosts Belize was represented by three Venture Scouts from Belize City and one Scout from Corozal.

The appointed delegation leader Armando Aban was unable to attend due to difficulties in obtaining his travel documents on time but the delegation did not travel alone since registered leader Jack Metcalfe from Houston Texas volunteered days before the event to accompany the Belize Scouts to the event. Welcome back son - I missed you so much Upon their return back to Belize, the group was met and welcomed at the airport by parents and members of the Scout Association.
All four members agree that the enjoyed the Jamboree, had lots of fun and enjoyed the various high adventure and educational activities during the event. Family members and Jamboree Participants at Airport The 23rd World Scout Jamboree will be held in Japan in 2015.
