Newest Members of Scouting in Belize In January of this year Mr. Lennox Flowers was recruited to start Scouting at St. Martins De Porres School. From the beginning he pledged his commitment to helping young people in the St. Martins area and the parish. Right away he signed up to attend leadership training and attended his first training course in January he later attended the second part in March of this year.

A parent meeting was called and the parents were informed of the plans for the group, and immediately they began working on the uniforms for the Cubs Scouts.

On Saturday the Cub Pack had their first overnight camp out at the School and some 35 Cubs, leaders and a few parents who participated in fun activities and game throughout the day. The night ended with a beautiful camp fire where everyone had an opportunity to sing songs, tell stories and jokes, roast marshmellows and sausages at the end. Ms. Yasmin Hulse from 8th Belize St. Ignatius and a few of her Cubs were also a part of the overnight camp. OVERNIGHT CAMP PRIOR TO INVESTITURE On Sunday morning the group attended a beautiful mass in the church where the Cubs participated in several parts of the mass. Immediately after the mass, the Cubs Scouts gathered in the church for the official Investiture Ceremony. Mr. Lennox Flowers was first invested by Field Executive Mr. Nephtali Palma and then Mr. Flowers did the honors of investing the 19 recruits from St. Martins and 1 member from St. Ignatius who voluntary promised to live by the Cub Promise and Law. The new recruits stepped forward by Sixes and were invested and also received their Tender Pad Badge, making them the newest members of the Worldwide Brotherhood of Scouts. The parents proudly took part in pinning on the badges and putting on their kids scarfs.
